Terms of Use
Last updated: 15 August 2026
By using tradepaperwork.docsanddeadlines.com ("this site"), you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
What this site is
Trade Paperwork is an independent reference site about the licensing and credentialing documents used in the US skilled trades — on-the-job hour logs and experience affidavits, journeyman and contractor exam applications, license reciprocity between states, renewals and lapses, program costs, safety and site-access cards, and eligibility requirements.
It is published by one person. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for any state licensing board, the US Department of Labor, OSHA, MSHA, the FMCSA, the EPA, TSA, any testing vendor (including PSI and Pearson VUE), any union, apprenticeship program, or trade school. Agency and program names are used only to identify the rules being described.
Nothing on this site is sold, and this site does not file, prepare, review, or submit applications on anyone's behalf.
No professional advice
Content here is general information, not professional advice.
Specifically, nothing here is legal advice, and reading it creates no attorney-client relationship of any kind. Licensing statutes, board regulations, and employment law questions — including anything about a criminal record, an immigration status, a training contract, or money a former employer says you owe — require a qualified attorney licensed in your state.
Nothing here is medical advice either. DOT medical certification, physical requirements, and drug and alcohol testing are decided by a certified medical examiner and the applicable federal rules, not by a website.
Only the licensing board, agency, or program administrator holding your file can tell you what your file needs. Where a page and an agency disagree, the agency is right. Confirm anything with a deadline, a fee, or a consequence directly with the body that issues the credential before you act on it.
Accuracy and currency
Guides are researched against official sources and dated on publication. Even so:
- Licensing rules change constantly and quietly. State legislatures amend licensing statutes each session, boards adopt new regulations and fee schedules between meetings, code cycles are adopted on staggered state schedules, and reciprocity agreements are signed and cancelled without any public announcement.
- Requirements vary by state, and often by city or county on top of the state — and a rule described here for one jurisdiction may not exist in yours.
- Fees, wait periods, and attempt limits are the fastest-moving numbers on this site and should be re-checked on the issuing body's own fee schedule before you pay anything.
- A guide reflects the situation at the date shown on it, not necessarily today.
- Errors happen.
No warranty is given that content is accurate, complete, or current. If you find something wrong, please report it via the contact page — corrections are made promptly.
